TEACHER TO TEACHER - SUPPORTing STUDENTS WITH ADHD
The Philly Fund is honored to support educators dedicated to learning more about students with ADHD. We underwrite
Teacher To Teacher training, offered by the CHADD organization.
About Teacher to Teacher Training: Through the program, educators will learn ways to help students improve academic success; teach planning, organization and time management skills; find out about strategies to reduce typical behavior problems and enhance self-management skills in the classroom; understand ADHD education laws, reforms, policies, and their implications; and explore innovative educational practices and model programs to build effective schools. Educators will also have access to CHADD’s ADHD Online Community, customized to promote collaboration, information sharing, and ongoing guidance around supporting students with ADHD.

PAST RECIPIENTS
“M”
M, 12, is a spunky, smart girl who had a lot of difficulty with reading and math in her early years at school. She began to dread school and her self esteem was way down. In third grade, she was diagnosed with ADHD and several other learning impairments. Her parents needed extra funds to help M get specialized treatment, especially after her younger brother was diagnosed with a learning disability as well.
“K”
K is in 5th grade and has been diagnosed with ADHD & autism. K has 4 brothers & sisters and all have been diagnosed with special needs. K’s family needed extra help with school tuition, and K's school contacted the Philly Fund for help.
“B” & “A”
PS Kids is an agency offering professional pediatric therapy services for developmentally and socially delayed children. The Philly Fund granted a scholarship that is applied to different children whose therapies would be lost due to the parents inability to pay out of pocket for the services. So far, we’ve been able to help B & A continue their speech and behavior therapy after their insurance for these services ran out.
"B"
B had a diagnosis of ADHD and was on medication and seeing a doctor, but his mother's insurance wasn't covering all of the medicine costs and doctor appoinments. The Philly Fund began paying for the medicine and B's doctor visits, offering some financial relief to B's family.
